Jonas is a brilliant songwriter whose compositions reach deep into the soul and awaken the best and highest in all of us. And the Seventh Ray band delivers these songs with a power, joy, and grace that lasts long after their last note is played. The world needs this music!” - Marci Shimoff, Co-author Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul

“When are you going on tour? I was blown away. I think that I must have listened to only Freedom Train in my car for the first week that I had it. I can hear the wisdom of the master in every song. I always enjoyed hearing you play, but this is something else. You guys got it goin’ on! The range of musical styles is astounding. Rockin’ rhythm to the softness of the Mother. Smiles and joy to tears of joy. You are masterful!” - Troy Johnson

“Your CD is amazingly wonderful. Wow. I’ve been enjoying it constantly since receiving it last week and have been meaning to send you a rave email. The sound is wonderful, the words are uplifting and joyous. I love having your voice fill my home and my car. Thanks for these wonderful songs.” - Kate Rowland

“I would rate the CD a 10 overall, it’s great. Best of luck to all of you.” - Chuck Rosenblum

“I think the recording quality is excellent on this CD! The first thing I noticed was how vibrant the sound is. The tunes are very catchy and I find them playing in my head at all hours.” - Shani E.

“I have enjoyed the CD so much, I would like to order 6 additional CDs.” - Marti Wolf

“Totally unique blend of music, loved every moment…filled with grace and devotion… quite authentic sound…..really blissful….thanks to you, my friend, for mastering your gifts!!” - Anthony Miller

After nearly five months of production and two and half years since their first CD, Jonas & the Seventh Ray has released their long-awaited second offering, Freedom Train. And it could not have been more worth the wait.

From the opening title track listeners are put on notice that this is most definitely music with heart, soul, and huge energy. From its rockin’ rhythms to its superb harmonies, from its violin and Hammond organ to its “can’t touch this” electric guitar solos – to mention nothing of its poetic and insightful lyrics – Freedom Train creates a rare musical experience that is at once energizing, inspiring, joyful, and deeply moving.

Freedom Train features nine original compositions by ultra-talented singer-songwriter Jonas Magram, each one full of love, vitality, and vision, reflecting both his 25-plus practicing and teaching meditation as well as his unwavering love for roots rock.

In addition to Jonas’ extraordinary lead vocals and high-energy acoustic rhythms, recording artists Michelle Mook and Bonnie Van Buskirk (vocals), Greg Wadsworth (electric and classical guitar, keyboard, vocals), Annie Savage (violin), Tim Briton (flute, mandolin), William Clancy (bass), and Ken Kolter (drums) add their enormous skills and energy to every song. And award-winning producer and engineer Tom Tatman of Catamount Studios has integrated and molded their performances into a clear, captivating, extraordinarily entertaining mix.

From the driving As A Man Thinketh and Freedom Train, to the tender, almost prayerful Mother Take Us There and Chip’s Song, to its celebrations of higher love in Holy Heart and Time For Love, even to the playful Tea Drinkin’ Man, Freedom Train overflows with vision, energy, insight, power, and even magic rarely found in today’s contemporary rock. If a second “enlightenment” is in the world’s future, Jonas & The Seventh Ray’s music – and their new CD, Freedom Train – will certainly help point the way.
